Darling Point: pair of elegant beauties go for close to the $11m target
The Darling Point home of cosmetic surgeon Darryl Hodgkinson and his wife Katherine Hassler is believed to have sold for close to its $11 million asking price.
Previous reports of the sale, which took place on March 15, said the home at 1 Yarranabbe Rd sold for about $10 million.
Newstead was built in the 1890s and includes two inter-connectable strata homes with views of Sydney Harbour and the CBD.
The Queen Anne style property was listed with Sotheby’s International’s Michael Pallier and Walter Antonelli, who could not disclose the final sale price.
HIGH STYLE IN WOOLLAHRA
The highest sale reported to Core Logic RP Data this week was $3.75 million for 49 Wallaroy Road, Woollahra.
Robyn and Jim Holt offloaded their stylish Woollahra digs for “close to $4 million” according to William Manning of McGrath, who sold the property along with Clint Ballard of Ballard Property and Raine & Horne’s Patrick Cosgrove.
Robyn Holt, a celebrity stylist and former Vogue Living editor, and her actor husband Jim listed the historic 1930s era property last September following the birth of their first grandchild. They plan to make a tree change to the Southern Highlands and buy a city pad for their Sydney visits.
The Holts purchased the F. Glynn Gilling-designed property in 2002 for $1.71 million.
DARLING POINT APARTMENT
The whole-floor Darling Point apartment of the late Ian Norman, one half of Harvey Norman, has reportedly been listed by his estate with an $11.5 million to $12.5 million price tag.
Three apartments were merged to create the sprawling, 495sq m level 13 property, set within the Hopewood Gardens complex on Thornton St.
With a north-facing aspect, the four-bedroom home offers spectacular 360 degree harbour and area views, several living zones including a family/billiards room, 700-bottle wine cellar and five balconies.
It is listed with Sotheby’s International Michael Pallier.
BELLEVUE HILL HOUSE
In Bellevue Hill, a six-bedroom Mediterranean-style house sold in the early to mid-$4 million range prior to auction.
The house at 52 Cranbrook Rd was sold to a young family from the eastern suburbs.
Although sales agent Michael Dunn, from Richardson & Wrench Double Bay, could not reveal the exact sale price, he said the final result fell within their expectations.
The property last traded for $4.1 million in mid-2010.
It sits on 748sq m of land and feature Mediterranean-style architecture and a 700-bottle wine cellar.
